Rain Chandelier: Ben Lepley
The Rain chandelier is part of a series of lamps made entirely out of found materials from the desert floor. The rain chandelier is made from shattered safety-glass. Unlike crystal beads used in chandeliers, these bits and pieces of broken glass always break at different angles and shapes. Looking closely each one is distinct, its own sculpture. When clustered and hung, these pieces seem to take on an organic quality, a rhythm and variation that is repeated in the laws of nature much like rain.
